2021 would be my first full triathlon seasons with my focus being on preparation for the 2021/22022 National Senior Games. My goals were simple; to increase my knowledge of the sport and to improve my performance. I also decided to swim competitively in some Master Swim Meets with the hope of also qualify for the National Senior Games in Swimming.

Riptide Spring Sojourn Swim Meet, Apple Valley, MN: Mar 28, 2021 (50 and 500 Freestyle) – Placed 1st in both in 55-59 AG. This was my first competitive swim meet in 40 years!

Spring Classic Duathlon, Lake Elmo, MN: May 23, 2021: (3 mile run, 14 mile bike and 2.5 mile run) – Placed 1st in 55-59 AG. Hot and muggy. First race on my Felt Tri Bike. Two wrong turns on the bike course!

Buffalo Sprint Triathlon, Buffalo, MN: June 6, 2021 (.25-mile swim, 12.4-mile bike and 3.1-mile run) – Placed 9th in 55-59 AG. Hot and very windy. Swim and run were challenging.

Turtleman Sprint Triathlon, Shoreview, MN: July 17, 2021 (.5-mile swim, 12.1-mile bike and 3.1-mile run) – Placed 2d in 55-59 AG. Strong swim and bike. First AG podium finish!

Graniteman Sprint Triathlon, Big Lake, MN: Aug 1, 2020 (.33-mile swim, 14.45 bike and 3.1-mile run) – Placed 4th in 55-59 AG. Strong swim and bike. Vast improvement over the previous year.

MN Senior Games Swim Meet, Mankato, MN: Aug 7, 2021 (50 Breaststroke, 200 and 500 Freestyle) – Placed 1st in all three in 55-59 AG. Qualified in swimming for the 2021/2022 National Senior Games! Minnetonka Sprint Swim Meet, Minnetonka, MN: Nov 6, 2021 (100 Freestyle and 50 Breaststroke and Freestyle) Placed 1st, 1st, and 2nd in 55-59 AG
