2020 Race Summary

2020 was my very first triathlon/multisport season. It was also the beginning of the Covid-19 Pandemic. Finding a triathlon that was not cancelled proved to be a monumental effort!

My goals were to primarily gain experience in the sport and ultimately qualify for the 2021/2022 National Senior Games in Ft Lauderdale, FL.

Graniteman Sprint Triathlon, Big Lake, MN: Aug 1, 2020 (.33-mile swim, 14.45 bike and 3.1-mile run) – Placed 14th in 55-59 AG. Not the best performance, but I ached my goal of qualifying for the 2021/2022 National Senior Games. I also learned the importance of sighting during the swim!

Fall Classic Duathlon, Lake Elmo, MN: Sept 25, 2020 (3 mile run, 14 mile bike and 2.5 mile run) – Placed 1st in 55-59 AG. This was a very cool and breezy race with a very significant hill during the bike.
